SAMI Newsletter - May 2006 Greetings from Merritt Island, I am going to try and get this News letter “thing” going and try and keep it up. So……. in order to keep it from becoming a Personal Journal and merely Minutes from the Meeting I will need your help with “INPUT”!! Please review the Distribution list and report corrections/additions to me at TODDAERO@CFL.RR.COM. Oh ya, include your news, ideas, articles, and etc!! We had 17 people at our May meeting. We opened in Prayer and Bob introduced several Visitors. Pablo and Angela visited from South Florida and Tim from North Brevard were with us. I was personally happy to have Elizabeth back with us. Elizabeth and I are now continuing her Instrument Instruction. Also, Dick and I have been working on the last few items for his Private Check ride and as soon as the Knowledge Test is complete I am confident we will soon have a new Private Pilot in our group. I believe we have at least six members in training or at least waiting for the chance to start their lessons. I have been very busy maintaining aircraft on the field and have not been able to devote as much time as required to Flight Training. Bob has stepped in and “taken up the slack”. But, we still need Instructors. I met some fine Christian Aviators at the flight school across the field and hope to have them in attendance at our monthly meeting. We had some very informative discussions that I will just touch on, in a sort of, narrative. Skip and family are off to the Bahamas for ten days or so. Our Easter Beach Flights were well received. Joe Cappruccini and family are off to Central America for the summer. Tom Liston and I are going to try and attend a few Saturday Morning Fly-In Breakfasts. Bob is taking another Group to Israel next February. The PCI Convention plans are “firming up” with October 27-28 as the dates. Bob’s Teaching concerned Psalms 139. Hope, Love, Caring, Self Esteem, Wonder, Ordination. This Psalm tells us how God has made us Marvelous and Wonderful and answered some personal questions I have been praying about! Our next meeting will be June 10 2006 at 9:00. That Saturday will give us a unique opportunity to help with the National EAA Young Eagles Day. (a day and event devoted to introducing young people to aviation) Because our meting coincides with the EAA Event I hope we will support the Flying Activities. There is no better way to reach Christian Families than through interaction with their children! Our meeting ended in Praise and Prayer. Dick Servant Air Ministries |
